Tourist Attractions review #3 Fatima Jinnah Park

Thousands of Islamabadians throng the beautiful park in late afternoon, daily, for a stroll or a brisk evening walk. And still others come here to fly kites, model aeroplanes, learn martial arts from masters, play cricket and football with friends. Or just go for a jog on the many trails crossing the park. For parents with young children, there are swings, slides and all the goodies that a five year old can enjoy. The park is designed with many snaking trails for walking and jogging which are going in all possible directions. It is always fun to explore a new path and see where it leads to. There is one serious draw back though. Since electricity load shedding is in effect, the park grows dark when the sun goes down in the evening. There are lights along the walkways, but they are all turned off (except for the children play area). So if you plan to visit the park in the evening, bring a flash light with you. The park is surprisingly very clean and well maintained. Everything seems to be in order, which is a nice surprise for anyone visiting the park for the first time. Don’t forget to see the sun set in the evening!
